Keep each inequality visible

A guaranteed-analysis line may state a minimum or maximum. Those words matter. Zuke’s lists protein 9% minimum and moisture 30% maximum; Charlee Bear With Liver lists protein 18% minimum and moisture 10% maximum; Little-Jacs lists protein 25% minimum and moisture 30% maximum. Rewriting them as exact measured percentages would remove the limit that defines the field.

Avoid a protein-quality ranking from one column

The three labels do not have equal moisture limits or identical recipes. An as-fed minimum is not an independently measured protein-quality score. FDA explains that pet-food nutrient comparisons can need a common moisture basis. This site does not infer actual moisture from a maximum, perform a dry-matter ranking from incomplete guarantees, or claim the largest printed percentage is best for an individual dog.

Use the analysis to check identity

The analysis is useful when confirming that a replacement page describes the same formula. For instance, a Little-Jacs result showing a different fat guarantee may belong to SlimJacs or another sibling product. Check the exact product heading and ingredient list before correcting your record. Similar brand graphics are weaker evidence than the selected recipe’s panel.

Ask a narrower buying question

A useful question is whether the selected current bag publishes the nutrient information needed for your existing purchasing criteria. If the required field is missing, mark it unknown and ask the maker for the complete current panel. Do not estimate an unlisted mineral, ingredient percentage or digestibility value from the order of ingredients. Guaranteed analysis and ingredient order serve different purposes.

Keep your comparison reversible

Save the published inequality, unit, source and observation date in separate fields. That lets you replace a stale record without changing an exact limit into a rounded fact. The finder preserves minimum and maximum wording and does not convert the figures into a diet prescription, disease claim, absorption result or independent laboratory certification.

A minimum is not a measured equality

A buyer entering protein25% into a spreadsheet should also store “minimum,” not just the number. If a later label states another minimum, that is a changed guarantee field, not proof of the exact measured difference between two batches. The same rule applies to moisture maxima. Keeping inequalities separate makes the spreadsheet less tidy but more accurate. It prevents later calculations from treating a permitted upper or lower bound as an observed laboratory result.
