Distinguish packaging from a time guarantee
A resealable pouch can have a maker instruction to close it after use. That does not establish a universal number of days after opening. Zuke’s reviewed directions say to reseal to preserve freshness, and the Little-Jacs retailer describes a resealable pouch. No exact received lot, best-by date or validated opened-life period was inspected for these selected purchases.
Preserve the package information
FDA advises keeping product identity, UPC, lot and best-by information available. Retain the original bag rather than discard the traceability panel when placing it in a secondary container. For the selected treat, record any actual maker storage instruction on the received package. Do not borrow a refrigeration instruction from wet food or an expiry rule from another treat format.
Keep inventory and usable-life questions separate
The whole-bag tool can report how many sealed packages meet your chosen mass target. It cannot certify that an old held bag is usable or that a large order will remain suitable until consumed. Enter held inventory only after checking its actual condition and label. A calendar estimate based on a supposed daily reward count would add assumptions this site has not verified.
Respond to a problem using the right channel
If a pouch is damaged, its contents appear abnormal or a pet develops a health problem associated with the product, preserve the package details and contact the appropriate manufacturer and veterinarian. FDA’s storage guidance explains reporting concerns. A low price or an intact zipper is not evidence that an uncertain product should continue to be fed.
Make the reorder note more useful
Save the bag size, recipe, lot, best-by marking, opening date if relevant to your own record and the exact printed storage wording. Mark an absent or unreadable date as unresolved instead of inventing a replacement period. Ask the maker what applies to that specific package. This is a traceability task, not a personal food-safety clearance.
A best-by marking is not a subscription interval
A date printed on a received pouch and an autoship interval answer separate questions. Neither tells this site how fast a particular household should use rewards. When deciding whether to buy several bags, check the actual package dates and maker storage wording rather than multiply a claimed daily reward count. If a seller cannot establish the current date range before dispatch, keep that uncertainty in the purchase record. No invented minimum shelf life is promised here.
